blog? what blog?

April 16th, 2008 by lilystarfish

i completely forgot i had started blogging however many years ago.  i just read a couple of the things i wrote… and to update no one in particular, i voted for danny last year. amazing strength and yet so graceful.

my good friend andrea got married last weekend.  i was privileged to be one of her bridesmaids — decked out in lilac. =)  i was looking at the few (beautiful) photos that have been posted on various flickr pages so far (hundreds more to come) and then i looked up andrea’s old blog page and found a link to my old blog page.  i guess we’ve been too preoccupied to keep these things updated.  i have to say that last weekend was the most fun i’ve had in a long time.  not to say that fun hasn’t been had, but, damn! andrea sure knows how to throw a party.  and there were tons of great photographers there to capture it all on film (or maybe not film since everything is digital these days… that makes me feel almost kinda prehistoric).  andrea is one lucky gal to have found ryan.  and ryan is one lucky guy to have found andrea.  why can’t everything in life be so wonderful?  best wishes to the happy newlyweds.

i’ve got a craving for chai tea…

fishies!!!

i adopted my first fishes last week.  they are two red telescope goldfish and they live with my boyfriend with his other fish and his turtle (the little punk… adorable little brat — the turtle, not my boyfriend).  they are so cute!!

ok, so i wasn’t planning to vote for anyone this season on so you think you can dance.  or maybe that’s not true.  travis was my favorite at the beginning, then i also loved allison, then i also loved benji.  i think benji’s going to win.  i wasn’t planning to vote until i watched the finale.  the reason i changed my mind?  konstantine.  my boyfriend calls me a groupie, which i am definitely NOT.  but can i help it if i love andrew mcmahon?  not love him, really.  more like his music, his lyrics, his pianist-ness… or whatever.  so when travis danced his final solo to konstantine… well, my jaw dropped and i considered passing out (but decided against it).  travis gets my vote not only because he’s a great dancer (i could watch his sunflower performance forever) but it turns out he has great taste in music too =).  heh.  but i did vote for benji too.   nick is still my favorite though.

when i say “meow” i mean business.

the master cat has returned from his nightly prowl. or maybe he was frolicking through the backyard. do cats frolick? mm, no. i think he just meowed "hello" to me. either that or "i’m hungry, feed me now." although he seems to be really digging having me scratch his head, so i’m thinking he was actually saying "i’m back. you must stop what you’re doing and focus all your attention on me now." he just meowed again. that one has to be "i’m hungry, feed me now." but i’m still scratching under his chin. typing with one hand sucks… ok, he’s done with me. i feel so used. and i feel my allergies kicking in. maybe i should get one of those hairless cats… but the furry kind are so much cuter. if i ever want another pet, i think its going to have to be fish. or a robot dog. have they invented robot cats yet?

job #1 complete

January 8th, 2006 by lilystarfish

my turtle sitting job of christmas through new years is over. nothing major happened. he sat, walked around his cage and my living room, ate his veggies and his occasional banana treat, pooped and peed. he was a very quiet, polite guest in my apartment (except for the times he walked onto my foot and then just stood there on my foot) and i was very sad when he went back home. the apt felt so empty and i felt so lonely after he left. i almost wanted to get a turtle of my own. almost. in other news, i got 3 new cds… well, 2 new ones (2005) and 1 fairly recent one (2003). and two of those were used. so anyways, i  got i am the avalanche - decent, but the vocals aren’t the greatest although they’re a cool band to see live. love their song "i took a beating". its a song that i think my boyfriend could’ve written. spitalfield (2003) - i have it on repeat but haven’t really had a chance to sit down and listen to it. and allister - haven’t listened to it yet. so far overall i’m pretty satisfied with the new additions to my cd collection. i still need something by jack johnson. maybe i’ll spend some of the money andrea gave me for christmas on a jack johnson cd.

what the heck

i am having issues trying to figure out how to comment on a comment. oh well. hey, jon, there are actually a couple songs by those evil bands that i like. yes, i like. but whatever.
that picture was taken at night. i was walking through a parking lot. if that is the picture you’re referring to. well then, happy turkey digesting.

what is the edge doing?!?!

November 15th, 2005 by lilystarfish

after months of being evanescence free, the edge is currently playing that one really crappy song by them (oh, but aren’t they all crappy?). at least they’re not dumb enough to play creed. but who the hell requested evanescence? thats so irritating. the edge is cool… forgivable for this one slip up. but WIND-UP SUCKS!!! and get this (on wind-up’s home page): “scott stapp, the voice of creed, has been one of the most powerful and recognizable forces in music for the past decade.” who’s the retard that wrote that vomit? the only kind of force stapp has comes out of his ass. he should be shot in the head.
